Cast glass

A series of collectible cast glass blocks with textured faces cast from my hand stitched smocking, gathering and quilting samples using my own technique developed from multiple test firings. These blocks are imbued with the work of the hand from start to finish, from the stitching of the fabric, to the making of the moulds, to the grinding and polishing of the glass. The transparent materiality of glass enables us to see textiles and stitch from a new perspective as we view the negative space of the folds from the inside out.
